Arsenal aims for back-to-back wins against West Ham United

London: Arsenal is set to play West Ham United this evening. They hope to win their second Premier League match in a row. The team has been performing well since the international break, winning against Nottingham Forest and Sporting CP recently.

Currently, Arsenal is nine points behind league leaders Liverpool. However, they have a chance to close the gap before Liverpool plays Manchester City on Sunday.

In terms of formation, Arsenal is expected to use a 4-2-3-1 setup. David Raya will continue as the goalkeeper. He has been a key player in both league and European matches. Raya aims to achieve back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since August.

Gabriel Magalhaes faced a minor injury during the last match against Sporting CP. Manager Mikel Arteta did not give a clear update on his condition. Still, it is likely that he will play in the London derby.

Gabriel, who is close to signing a new long-term deal, is expected to team up with William Saliba in defense. Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori will likely play as right and left-backs, respectively.

There may be one change in the midfield. Mikel Merino could replace Thomas Partey. Although Partey has been performing well, Arsenal must be careful due to his injury history.

Merino is likely to partner with Declan Rice, who had an outstanding performance during his last visit to the London Stadium. Rice scored a fantastic goal and provided two assists against his former team.

In the attacking positions, no changes are expected. Martin Odegaard will likely play in the number 10 role. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are set to start on the right and left wings.

Kai Havertz is also expected to play up front after scoring in his last match. Gabriel Jesus showed good teamwork against Nottingham Forest, but he struggled to be a threat in the opponent’s box.
